Time for us to disappear back into the shadows
To the staff
We'll keep an eye on things and see how they go. If there is one message we
can send it is that we must all stand together if we are to make our work environment
more acceptable (NAS, DCAS, Rural, Urban and Control). Do not let them 'divide
and conquer' and insist that your views are heard. Insist.
If you feel your voice isn't being heard, then do as we have and give yourselves
a louder voice, nothing is more powerful in bringing about rapid change
than public exposure. Guaranteed.
To the management
This is your chance to prove yourselves. The staff that published this site did
so to send a message. We are desperate. We no longer care about keeping our jobs,
we care about our physical and mental health. We are intelligent, determined and
quite prepared to 'Blow the Whistle' if necessary. You did not see this site coming
and so please don't be so arrogant as to suppose you can predict our next move.
We are giving you some time, a chance to put things right. Your best defense against
us is to act in a proper and professional manner, talk to the staff (though not
through your discredited 'staff council') and address the key areas of
concern, as highlighted by the staff.
A reminder of just some of the major issues raised by staff visiting this site:
Inappropriate
calls. Particularly from NHS Direct.
Unequal pay. We are still two Services.
Dynamic Cover. Inhuman and unacceptable. Think of another way of meeting
the government targets.
Assure staff about the ability and willingness of the service to 'pay
out' when staff members are injured through their work. Your silence on this
matter is a disgrace.
Set up effective communication with your staff. How? We don't know, but
then you're the ones making 80K a year. Think of something.
